FORWARD RECORDS BETWEEN MOBILE USERS
With M2M, mobile users can create and forward records to colleagues in the field. Forms can be partially completed, shared, and updated by other users before final submission – supporting workflows that require input from multiple people.
Think of it as a relay for records: one team member starts the form, the next adds their part, and so on – until the form is fully completed and submitted.
GO BEYOND LINEAR DATA CAPTURE
Many operational workflows require collaboration, not just linear data collection. Records often need input from multiple users before submission: pre-population, quality checks, managerial sign-off, or final approvals.
Our M2M capability supports this type of collaborative, iterative process, providing an auditable chain of custody for any record.
HOW IT WORKS IN THE FIELD
Start a new record on your mobile device and send it to another user for action. That user can review, add to, or amend the record before returning it to the originator – or passing it on again. Once the form is complete and all required fields are filled, it’s submitted to the AppCan Portal.
Mobile users are notified via their device’s Notification Centre and can quickly access new records through their ‘New Records Received’ inbox in the AppCan App.

Every forwarding and submission event is logged. AppCan keeps a full revision history, so you always have full visibility, which is critical for compliance, quality assurance, and audit readiness.

M2M isn’t just for field-to-field sharing. Admins can also initiate records from the AppCan Portal.
DIGITAL PROJECT PACKS WITH PDF INTEGRATION
We’ve taken M2M even further by enabling direct access to partially completed PDFs via the AppCan Mobile App.
When uploading pre-populated records to the Portal, you can auto-generate PDFs linked to digital Project Packs. Field users can browse these packs and select which partially completed PDFs they want to use.
They finish the form, submit it – and the PDF in the Project Pack updates in real-time, ensuring everyone is always working with the latest version.
